Northwest Suburban Bar Association, currently serving as Chair of the Federal Tax Committee.

Mr. Hughes is a regular monthly contributor to the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s monthly magazine and has had articles published in other bar Journals.

Regardless of whether he is representing a business or an individual, Mr. Hughes is consistently praised and commended for his meticulous and aggressive preparation of cases resulting in multimillion-dollar tax savings to clients. He has assisted hundreds of clients in negotiating the lowest possible settlements allowed by law in the most expeditious manner. With over 20 years of a broad range of experience in business, tax, and bankruptcy law, Mr. Hughes has negotiated many successful offers in compromise; has had distinguished success in the resolution of contested tax matters at all stages; and has the reputation for excellence in the representation of Debtors in financial distress, having personally advised and represented numerous consumer bankruptcy clients.
Mr. Hughes is currently a member of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Hughes is a member of the Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, where he serves as a volunteer Sunday School teacher. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Countryside Association for People with Disabilities (in Palatine and Waukegan) and the Tower Lakes Community Foundation (in Lake County, IL).
